TUKO.co.ke has learnt that the judges had a hard time deciding the
overall winner from the top three. The overall winner, Muriithi has
come under attack on social media for the simple reason that she is not
Kamba.
Ann Mbula and Tabitha Kimeu were the first and second runners up
respectively. The two who did not clinch the win had been vouched to
win and were the favorite of the majority. The judges on the other hand,
had a different idea.

The winner was crowned by Lilian Ng’ang’a who also handed to the
winner, a cheque of KSh 100,000. Ann Mbula and Tabitha Kimeu won KSh
50,000 and KSh 25,000 respectively.
The winner will be flying the Machakos flag at the county and
National level. A fact that seems to have raised dust especially with
the thought that she is not Kamba.
All Miss counties in Kenya belong to a particular ethnicity dictated
by the population of the particular county. Say for example, Miss
Nyamira county will be from the Abagusii while Miss Tharaka Nithi will
be as expected, from the Ameru community.
“I really never saw this coming. I congratulate all the rest as I celebrate this win,” Muriithi said after winning as quoted by the Standard. I
know the challenge has been bestowed upon me to carry the flag high for
Machakos County as we look forward to the national competition. I will
not let Machakos down,”
