Hafeez ‘Saka’ Oyetoro, Nedu, Bunmi Davis & More star in Sitcom “Jeka Play” | Watch the Trailer

Media Personality Bunmi Davies has a new project and it sounds exciting.
His latest comedy project is a sitcom titled “Jeka Play”, set to premiere on Tuesday May 31, 2016.
Named after popular UNILAG restaurant
and hangout spot Jeka Play, which he owns, the sitcom is based on the
interesting everyday events and happenings at Jeka Play, which is the
epicenter of the UNILAG social scene. In Jeka Play, he reprises
his role as the owner of the real life place as he encounters students,
lecturers, cool kids and assorted regular patrons at the venue.
Commenting on the inspiration behind the show, Bunmi Davies says, “My
experience of running Jekaplay at Unilag has been a very interesting
one because by nature of the kind of venue it is and the campus
environment around, we get some really interesting characters coming in
all the time and there is never a dull moment with them around. From the
genuinely beautiful girls and guys to the “I must belong by force”
students, right down to the aristos, not forgetting the student
politicians with good, bad and funny motives, and of course a few randy
lecturers. It occurred to me that these everyday comedic experiences at
Jekaplay should be promoted to a wider audience thus the idea for the
sitcom was born”.
Nigerian Senate to launch Transparency and Delivery Commission
The Commission will be led by a working group consisting of a world leading research institution and a partner institute in Nigeria and will be advised by an internationally acclaimed anti-corruption expert.
The independent Commission will work closely with the Senateand the Senate Committee on Anti-Corruption & Financial Crimes to draw up a robust oversight scheme and strengthen the internal structuring and capacity of the National Assembly to fulfil its role as an anti-corruption institution.
The Commission’s work will be two-fold. Initially it willconcentrate on analysing the processes and tools by which the Senate and the National Assembly in general can, using its legislative remit, assist the anti-corruption agenda of President Buhari and more specifically strengthen the institutions through legislative reforms.
The following medium-term goal is to then deliver recommendations for better ways of working within the Senate and to ensure that it meets the highest global standards includingthe newly announced Commonwealth Secretariat anti-corruption ‘kitemark’ system.
Specifically, the group will:
1. Map out how the Senate could use its oversight tools to actas a catalyst for greater transparency and anti-corruption in other parts of the Nigerian state both at the Federal and State Levels.
2. Assess how the Nigerian Senate functions as a scrutiny and policy making body and how it can improve in this role
3. Undertake a review of the mechanisms of the Nigerian senate and identify areas for improvement in senate efficiency in implementing its legislative agenda and itsanti-corruption capacity.
4. Look at international and regional examples of best practice – such as the Commonwealth Secretariat ‘kitemark’ – and suggest tangible reforms the Nigeria Senate could implement to improve transparency and the policy delivery process internally and across government.

See photos of the newly crowned Miss Machakos County 2016

– The newly crowned Miss Machakos county has been attacked after winning a contest in Kamba-land despite hailing from a different ethnicity
A 21-year-old Karen Nkatha Muriithi beat 11 other contestants to win the hotly contested,Miss Machakos pageant. The pageant was held over the weekend and saw among others , the Machakos governor’s wife who crowned the winner.

TUKO.co.ke has learnt that the judges had a hard time deciding the overall winner from the top three. The overall winner, Muriithi has come under attack on social media for the simple reason that she is not Kamba.
Ann Mbula and Tabitha Kimeu were the first and second runners up respectively. The two who did not clinch the win had been vouched to win and were the favorite of the majority. The judges on the other hand, had a different idea.

The winner was crowned by Lilian Ng’ang’a who also handed to the winner, a cheque of KSh 100,000. Ann Mbula and Tabitha Kimeu won KSh 50,000 and KSh 25,000 respectively.
The winner will be flying the Machakos flag at the county and National level. A fact that seems to have raised dust especially with the thought that she is not Kamba.
All Miss counties in Kenya belong to a particular ethnicity dictated by the population of the particular county. Say for example, Miss Nyamira county will be from the Abagusii while Miss Tharaka Nithi will be as expected, from the Ameru community.
“I really never saw this coming. I congratulate all the rest as I celebrate this win,” Muriithi said after winning as quoted by the Standard. I know the challenge has been bestowed upon me to carry the flag high for Machakos County as we look forward to the national competition. I will not let Machakos down,”
Leicester City's Jaime Vardy was rejected at age 16 and you won't believe why
"Too small. That was the reason I was told, yeah. Too small, not ready for the physicality of scholarship football.
"I’ve said it before, I don’t think anyone can be told if they’re good enough when they’re 15 or 16 years old when you’ve got many years to grow and develop.
"That was my reason and there’s probably been hundreds that have been told the same and they’ve had to drop down as well.”This is part of the very reason why the Leicester City striker has launched his academy, to discover others like him whose talents aren't immediately obvious.
